Efficiency of biofertilizer

Efficiency of biofertilizer as a stimulator of germination energy and rootage has been researched under variable concentrations and periods of application by scientists and experts.

Addition of humic acids, derived from the biofertilizer into the wheat growth environment has shown that they stimulate root and stem length of wheat sorts “lada”, “intensive” and “bezostaya” with the biggest positive effect of using solutions of 1% and 0,01%. During experiments conducted by Kyrgyz Science and Research Institute of Agriculture (KSRIA) on effect of biofertilizer on germination energy and rootage of wheat under different concentrations of applied biofertilizer the following results have been received:
• Application of biofertilizer on wheat seeds was effective at any concentration of biofertilizer applied. Germination of seeds has increased under concentrations of 0,01, 1, 3 and 6% biofertilizer solution up to 99%. Root length has increased up to double the length of control seeds.
• Seed germination has happened on the second day of the experiment and on the fifth day seeds have developed powerful root system (see Figure 41).
• Biofertilizer received as a result of continuous digestion regime with regular additions of fresh substrate has sown better results regarding germination, rootage and stem development and is therefore recommended over the batch-type digestion.

Field experiments and practical results
Field experiments for determining biofertilizer effect on wheat yield have been conducted on the territory of KSRIA greenhouse with wheat sort “Djamin” on the territory of 12 m2. Biofertilizer has been applied at presowing period and during plant growth.
Soil tillage, sowage and plant care has been carried out according to agrotechnical recommendations, but without watering. After applying biofertilizer in quantity of 400 liters per hectare 5,3 centners of wheat per hectare increase has been noted and after applying of 800 liter per hectare increase in yield has amount4ed to 2,2 centners of wheat than without application of biofertilizer (21,6 c/ha) [15].
Farm “Bakyt”, located in Sokuluk rayon of Chui oblast in 2004 has harvested 60 centners of wheat per hectare of wheat sort “Kyjal” from a territory of 12 ha using biofertilizer diluted with water in proportion of 1:50 in quantity of 2 tons per hectare.
In 2004 “Farmer” Association has decided to rent an piece of land in unfavorable condition with the aim to demonstrate efficiency of biofertilizer. 14 hectares of poor and stony land, deserted for reasons of low productivity (7-10 c/ha), this year 35 hectares of wheat sort “Polovchanka” have been harvested per hectare.
Analogous results have been received and on the other land lot of 6 hectares – 32,5 centners of wheat sort “Intensive” have been harvested per hectare. Fertilizer was applied during the presowing period in quantity of 3 tons per hectare and during watering in quantity of 1 ton per hectare.

CORN
Using biofertilizer for growing vegetables and corn for silage have shown that when applying biofertilizer to roots it is necessary to dilute it with water in ratio of 1 : 20, 1 : 40, 1 : 50, depending on the humic acid content of the biofertilizer. Experiments conducted by Latvian agricultural academy have shown the increase in corn yields for 49%.

Control Experiment

With single application of biofertilizer during presowing period in quantity of 4 tons per hectare Association “Farmer” has registered increase in corn yield for silos of 1,8 times more than the normal yield.

POTATOES, TOMATOES AND OTHER TUBERUS PLANTS

Application of biofertilizer on tomatoes and potatoes harvest has shown yield increase of 15 – 27% compared to control planting. Farmers that use liquid biofertilizer on potatoes vegetation period decreases on average by 2 weeks with increase in yields 1,5 – 2 times the usual.
Latvian agricultural academy has conducted experiments on potatoes that have shown 11-35% yield increase with biofertilizer application.
Cut up and digested in biogas plant tomato tops generates detritogumin – patented fertilizer types that allows to grow in Chui valley tomatoes weighting up to 0,7-1,5 kg [15].
Experiments conducted by researchers on different types of vegetables show that the most notable effect from biofertilizer application is shown on tuberous plants (radish, carrots, potatoes and so on) and on fruit trees [13].

BARLEY
Effect of biofertilizer on germination and development of roots and stems of barley under different concentrations have been conducted in KSRIA. Application of 0,01%, 0,1%, 1%, 3%, 6% solutions has an insignificant effect on germination of barley seeds, but root growth increases considerably, especially after application of 3–6% solutions, and 0,1% solution gives considerable stem growth (see Figure 44) [15].

BEETROOT
Field experiments for determination of biofertilizer effect on beetroot yield have been conducted on the territory of KSRIA greenhouse with “K 70” sort on the lot of 30 m2. Biofertilizer has been applied during presowing period and after.
Soil tillage, sowage and plant care has been carried out according to agrotechnical recommendations, and there were 8 watering. Harvesting was carried out manually from the whole lot area.
Increase in yields of beetroot fluctuated considerably – from 21% (application of 800 liters per hectare) to 33% (application of 400 liters per hectare) and depends from soil and climate conditions, norms, methods and periods of biofertilizer application [15].

SOY
During experiments for efficiency of application of biofertilizer on soy beans in KSRIA good reaction to 3% solution of biofertilizer has been noted, germination has happened on the 2 day of experiment and on the 5th day shoot formation was observed.

COTTON
Field experiments on biofertilizer effect on cotton yields in private household of Bazar-Kurgan rayon of Jalal-Abad oblast have shown that application of 10% solution of biofertilizer during sowing and first cultivation on the basis of applying 300 liter per hectare allow to receive yields of 30 centners of cotton per hectare. Control lot has shown a yield of 20-25 centners per hectare, so the yield has increased by 20% – 50% [17].

TREES, SHRUBS AND HERBAGE16
Experiments conducted by the Biosphere Institute of the South brunch of Science Academy of the KR have shown that application of biofertilizer for root system formation of fruit trees, decorative and other shrubs is more effective that application of traditionally used expensive chemical heteroauxin. Practice shows that using biofertilizer for growing natural herbage on the mountain fields with two harvests gives increase of green mass by 21%. In Latvian state farm “Ogre” application of biogas on herbage with 3 harvests have shown increase of yields by 5 times and on cultivated grass for 4 harvests – 1,5 times normal.
